A few words from Father Gregory

September 8 is a very special day for Salvatorians. We call it "Thanksgiving Day," and it's not because we've all "flipped our lids" from too much fun in the sun.

It's that on each September 8, Salvatorians give thanks to our Savior in a special way for the wonderful blessing of having such generous and faithful benefactors. I've said it before, and I'll say it again – you truly are co-workers in all that we are blessed to do on behalf of our Savior and the entire Church.

September 8 is the day the Church marks as our Blessed Mother's birthday. It's also the date on which the Salvatorians' founder, Father Francis Jordan, began his eternal life in the company of our Savior and the saints.

Speaking of which, the efforts to have Father Jordan proclaimed "blessed" and then a saint (his "cause," as the process is known) continues. And we would greatly appreciate it if you would join your prayers to ours on his behalf.

On September 15, a week after our Mass of Thanksgiving, Salvatorians will begin a special Novena in honor of the Mother of Our Savior. Once again, it will be our honor and privilege to pray for you and for all those you love.

Please click here to email me your intentions for a remembrance in our September 8 Mass of Thanksgiving and in our Novena in honor of the Mother of Our Savior. If you prefer, you may send them to me via postal mail – just complete this intentions form.

And while you're here, why not take a moment to check out our Christmas cards for 2010? I think you'll be very pleased with this year's selection.

Your prayers and gifts to us make our ministries possible. I'll be praying for you and your intentions this September 8, thanking our most merciful Savior for the great bounty of your kindness and friendship.
